Understanding Push-Back Racking

The push-back racking system is a live storage solution for pallets formed by a compact structure, where unit loads are moved by means of rollers or shuttles with the aid of a slight incline.

It is a system especially designed for LIFO stock management (Last in, First out), where the last pallet placed on the rack is the first to be unloaded. Unlike FIFO storage, which needs two aisles, push-back racking utilizes a single work aisle for both loading and unloading.

LIFO Storage System Pallet Loading Detail
Main Applications
  • Storage of homogeneous non-perishable products or products with a long expiration date.
  • Wide variety of product references: Each lane can be reserved for a specific type of reference.
  • Lower unit loads per reference: Ideal when each lane stores a maximum of 6 unit loads.
  • Cold Storage: Perfectly suitable for installation in warehouses with cold rooms or freezing chambers.
  • Versatile Integration: Can be combined with other types of pallet racking or manual picking systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the core principle of Push-Back Racking?
It operates on a LIFO (Last-In, First-Out) principle using a nested cart or roller system on a slight incline. When a new pallet is loaded, it pushes the existing pallets back.
How much weight can each tier support?
The system is robust and designed to support between 1000kg and 4000kg per tier, depending on the specific customization and materials used.
What are the maximum storage depths available?
Typically, push-back racking systems can store a maximum of 6 unit loads (pallets) deep per lane.
Is this system suitable for cold storage environments?
Yes, the steel construction and powder-coated finish make it highly durable and suitable for both cold rooms and freezing chambers.
What materials are used in the construction?
We use high-quality steel including Q235B, Q235D, and SS400 to ensure maximum stability and durability for industrial use.
What is the typical lead time for an order?
Lead time is approximately 20-40 days after the order details and production specifications are confirmed.
